If you want to control IR devices — AC units, soundbars, TVs — from a home automation system, you need a way to send IR commands from code. The KS019 is that interface board. It’s an ESP8266-based PCB you flash yourself using the Arduino IDE, and it does two things: capture IR codes from any remote so you can see exactly what protocol and values it’s using, and replay those codes on demand over WiFi/MQTT.
The hardware is well thought out for iterative development: IR LED on GPIO16, IR receiver on GPIO14, RTS/DTR auto-reset so you never have to manually ground GPIO0, and three indicator LEDs (power, heartbeat, IR transmit) so you can see what’s happening without opening a serial monitor. Powered and programmed over micro-USB.
Three ready-to-use firmware sketches are included: MideaSend (Midea AC, Coolix protocol, MQTT), PanasonicSend (Panasonic AC, full state encoding, MQTT), and SonySend (Sony soundbar, SIRC 15/20-bit, serial-driven). All are clean Arduino sketches — read them, modify them, adapt them to your own devices.
